Pity, Need and Challenge

Why is it that when you really need more business, it is very difficult to find; and when you don't need any new business, it seems to come at you from every direction? Anyone who works in a sales position or runs a business has probably experienced this.

When you have plenty of business, and things are going great, you naturally attract people to you. All your activity stirs up even more activity. You're more confident, and people can definitely sense that. Nothing succeeds like success.

Many people operate from the perspective of need. They try to use their own need as a way to convince people to do business with them. That is a recipe for failure. No one wants to buy from someone who is desperate.

Don't ask or expect people to take pity on you. You might find some who will, but pity is the last thing you want. Pity is one of the most degrading things you can experience. When you accept pity, you are admitting to yourself and others that all hope is lost. That kind of mindset won't get you very far.

It is far better to be challenged than to be pitied. Challenge forces you to grow, to build, to create, to excel. Challenge can motivate. It can teach you new skills and help you make new contacts. It builds confidence and competence.

Seek out challenge, put forth the effort to meet the challenge, and you'll soon have more business than you can handle.

The power and value of information

We are now operating in an information economy. What does that mean? Does it mean that material things are no longer important? No. Material things are still vital.

What we mean by an information economy is that we define and create value based on information content, rather than on physical properties. In an information economy, the information content is what gives value to most products and services.

The most extreme example is probably the silicon computer chip. The chip itself is very small. The materials contained in it are of very little value. The incremental cost to manufacture it is small. The thing that gives a computer chip its value is information. The information that went into designing and producing the chip, and the information processing ability of the chip itself.

But it is not just in the high tech world that information plays a key role. I heard an ad the other day on the radio for a car leasing company. The company was making money by arranging leases on cars. However, the value of their product came in the information content. They advertised that they would find the lowest price on the car you wanted and provide you with all the reports, ratings and magazine articles available on the models that you were interested in. They may be in the car leasing business, but their product -- and the way they distinguish themselves from the competition -- is pure information.

Every business, no matter how high tech or low tech, can benefit from the strategic use of information. To be competitive in today's marketplace, you must know how to find, process and utilize the right information. It is the new form of leverage. Look for ways to improve what you do through the strategic use of information

The Sequence of Success

There is only so much time available each day. The choices you make about how that time is used, will determine your situation in life. You create your own future by your actions, and your actions are, ultimately, under your complete control.

So how do you make the right choices? Remember that you have a choice, not only to do something or not to do it, but also WHEN to do it. The sequence in which you take action, is a key component of success.

Successful people do the important things first. Inevitably, when you do the trivial, non-productive things first, there is often no time left to do the important, life-enhancing activities. S learn to focus first on the things that will ultimately make a difference in your life.

The winners in life are people who have the discipline to eat dinner before dessert. Imagine for a moment how you would feel each evening if you ate a big piece of chocolate cake, and a bowl of ice cream, before you had your dinner. Would you then feel like eating a nutritious, well-balanced dinner? Probably not.

Doing the "fun" things first, takes away our appetite for doing the "hard" stuff that really needs to be done if we're to make progress in life. Better to get the important things done first. Then the "fun" is even more enjoyable.

There's nothing wrong with dessert -- just remember to eat dinner first.

What should we do now?

It's usually a waste of time and energy to put a lot of effort into assigning blame or determining who is at fault. Because fault exists in the past, and the past cannot be changed.

Figuring out who is at fault will do nothing to improve the situation. What really matters is not who is to blame, but who is ready to take responsibility for moving forward.

When you become too focused on who is at fault, you can easily lose sight of the positive actions that can be taken. Once you let go of the need to assign blame, you're much more likely to see the positive possibilities available to you.

The thing to be concerned with is not what happened, but what you're going to do about it. Put your focus not on what should or should not have been done, but rather on the best of what can now be done.

There is no sense in fighting battles that are already over. Instead, put your energy into finding and following the best of the choices that are now available to you. Let your thoughts be guided by the best you can do. And you'll be creating a future that's the best you can make it.

Where are you heading towards?

Think about what you're doing now and where you're going. Most people live in a constant state of self denial. And after years and years of just barely getting by, they finally resign themselves to just that -- barely getting by. They give up on their dreams. It is so sad.

But it doesn't have to be that way. You can take control of your life, of your future.

Look at what you're doing now. Is it getting you where you want to be? If not, what are you going to do about it. Are you going to keep living in a state of self denial until it's too late and you finally just completely give up on your dreams and resign youself to an empty life of just getting by?

Or will you take control of your life. Live life to the fullest. Enjoy making a difference in the lives of others. There's nothing noble about being poor and lonely and depressed, and life does not have to be that way. Successful people are the people who help others the most, and network marketing an opportunity for you to do just that. To help other people. That's what life's all about anyway, isn't it? We tend to forget that with all the stress and complexity of daily life, but when you stop to think about why we're all here, isn't that really it? To help each other.

When you were a child, you could imagine unlimited possibilities. You were happy and creative and you dreamed of big things. But then about the age of 6 you started getting into the "system." And gradually, little by little, every day, the system began to wear you down, to strip your dreams away, to make you conform to the mediocre standard. Your dreams are still there. They're probably buried under a thick layer of sludge, but they're still in there somewhere. Life has beaten you down, over and over again, but your dreams are still there.

Try reaching through all that and touching your dreams again. See how it feels. Imagine, just for a moment, that you can live your life to the fullest and be all you ever wanted to be and do all the things you ever wanted to do. Just imagine it for a moment.

The choice is up to you. You can continue to do what you're doing, resign yourself to a lifetime of diminished expectations, or you can grab the opportunity to be the best you can be.

Back To WORK

Now it's time to get back to work.

The accepted wisdom is that we must work hard to get ahead. But that's not really true. It doesn't really matter how hard you work. What matters is how much you get done. Many people fall into the trap of doing a lot of work without ever getting anything done.

How does one get out of that trap? You start by learning to value yourself and your time. You must believe that your are a worthwhile, valuable individual with something unique to contribute to the world. When you adopt that mindset, you'll realize what a shame it is to waste your time. You'll want to find ways to be more productive because you'll value your own time so highly. Among those ways to be more productive:

Learn to say no. Unfortunately, people will take advantage of you if you let them. If they know that you'll do their work for them, then they'll let you. If they're doing something equally valuable in return, that's no problem. The problem comes when they start to take advantage of you. In the long run, no one benefits. You get bogged down in unproductive activity, and they develop a dependency mindset. For your sake and theirs, learn to say no -- firmly and politely.

Deal with things as they come up. Problems don't go away by themselves -- they just get worse. If you don't deal with things immediately, you waste time worrying about them. And by the time you get around to dealing with them, it usually takes more time and effort than if you had handled it earlier.

Keep focused. There are hundreds of distractions that can knock you off task. Find a way to focus on your goals. Write them down and review them several times a day. More importantly, find a reason behind what you're doing. When you're confident of what you're doing, and of why you're doing it, you will stay focused.

Never stop learning. Always be on the lookout for new ways to do something. Just because you've done something the same way for 3 years doesn't mean that's the best way to do it. Step outside your box and look for new and different ways to work.

Remember -- it's not how hard you work, it's how much you get done that counts. Keep yourself focused on what needs to be done, and you'll get to where you want to be.

Dropping The DOUBT

Though it has no physical form, doubt can restrain you more surely than the strongest steel chain. Yet doubt is nothing but a thought, and has no power other than the power you give to it.

Although doubt can stubbornly hold you back, you can do something even more powerful. You can let go of it entirely.

Doubt is nothing more than a thought. Any doubt, with a mere fraction of an effort, can be forever gone the moment you decide to remove it.

If you fight against your doubt it grows stronger and more resilient. Yet when you simply release it and empty it from your mind, doubt falls away from you and quickly withers into nothing. There is not one single doubt that is permanently attached to you. Any doubt you have is yours by choice.

Let each of your doubts fall quickly and easily away. In the place where they once lived, choose instead to hold and nurture thoughts of positive, empowering confidence

Dig down deep and connect with your life's dreams

What is your dream? More than anything else, what do you want to accomplish in your life? And why?

We get so caught up in the day-to-day activities, the "overhead" of life, that we usually forget to seek out and appreciate the real substance of life. What is your dream? Do you know?

Yes, you have one. You've probably had it since you were a child. When we're children, dreams come easy. Anything is possible and we're not limited by the narrow-mindedness that experience brings. Every child has dreams.

And then "reality" sets in. Responsibility. Decisions. Trying to please and impress other people. Little by little, as we grow older, the world begins to cover our dreams over. Layer upon layer of sludge and debris get piled on top of our dreams until finally we no longer know they're there.

But they are. They're buried deep, but your dreams are there. And occasionally you connect with them, if only for a second. You see something, hear something, catch a whiff of a scent from long ago. Your dream comes back to you for a moment and you feel a deep sense of regret that you never did follow it. Then something "more important" comes along and it's gone again.

What are you living for if not to follow your dreams? Are you living for money? Are you living for pleasure? Have you taken the easy way out and allowed yourself to live for someone else's dream?

Dig down deep and connect with your life's dreams. Have a dream and you'll have a life that's full and rewarding.

Welcome each moment

Welcome each moment, each feeling, each experience as it comes. When you constantly fear or fight whatever is coming next, you become continually stuck where you are.

By welcoming each moment, you begin to move forward. Even if the moment is not exactly what you wanted, welcome it anyway and you become free to move on to whatever is next.

Welcome each moment, whatever it might hold, and you will surely find something of real value in it. There is always a way to move forward, whatever the circumstances may be.

Instead of being weighed down with worry, anger or resentment for what is, put your energy into what can be. Rather than being imprisoned by the shortcomings of a particular moment, set yourself free to live its positive value.

Every moment has its problems, but so what? Welcome it anyway, and rather than dwelling on those problems, you'll already be moving past them. Welcome each moment for the positive possibilities it surely offers, and by so doing you'll begin to transform those possibilities into reality.

PEACE

When troubles come toward you, let peace come from you. When the world is filled with anger, frustration and confusion, that is when a peaceful heart can be the most valuable.

The more peaceful you are, the more effective you become. When your heart is filled with peace, your energy is more positively and purposefully focused.

The longer you remain peaceful, the stronger you become. Peace on the inside thus leads to real, meaningful success on the outside.

You can choose to carry peace within you, no matter what may be happening around you. Let the calm, deep power of peace energize your spirit and it will surely make a difference.

With peace at your very core, your thoughts are clear and your actions filled with purpose. Whatever the challenges of the moment may be, you have what it takes to move successfully through them.

Peace is something you can always choose to carry confidently inside you. The more you do, the more moments you'll fill with purpose and meaning.

You know what needs to be done and you know you are capable of doing it. Now is the time to get moving. Though there are distractions all around, and plenty of excuses to be found for waiting until later, putting it off will only make it more difficult. Though there are problems and risks, and lots of things that can go wrong, the biggest risk is failing to do what needs to be done.

Though it can be a bit uncomfortable to step forward into new and unknown territory, it would be far more painful to live with the regret of not having done so. The opportunity to live, to take action, to make things happen, to make a difference is here today in this very moment.

Take hold of that opportunity and take hold of the enormous value it offers. Today, with your thoughts and your actions, with your discipline and commitment, you can add positive value to your life and your world that will stay with you always.

There is one day in your life that can make all the difference in the world. And that day is today, because it's the one that is here and now for you to live.

It's not what you have, it's what you do with it

In the nineteenth century, before the invention of the internal combustion engine, crude oil was a nuisance. No one wanted it on their property -- it fouled the land and the water.

Then came the internal combustion engine, and the automobile, and the petroleum business. Suddenly, there was a huge market for crude oil because someone had figured out something useful to do with it.

Nothing other than life itself really has intrinsic value. In order for anything to have value, you must know what to do with it. And the more productively you can use it, the more value it has.

At the heart of most computers is a microprocessor chip made primarily of silicon. Silicon is more abundant in nature than any other element except for oxygen. As you walk down any beach in the world, the sand beneath your feet is composed largely of silicon. Yet silicon, when processed into a computer chip, can be worth thousands of times its weight in gold. What is it that makes silicon so valuable? It's not the material itself -- it's the fact that someone has taken it and purified it and processed it into something extremely useful.

Knowing what to do with something is more important than the thing itself. This holds true not only for tangible, material things but also for things such as ideas, business contacts, skills and information. Most people are caught up in the endless pursuit of trying to get enough, of trying to have enough. Such an approach will never work, because just having enough is never enough. You must know what to do with it. In fact, when you know what to do with what you have, you'll discover that you already have enough.

That is a very powerful concept. It frees you from the dead-end approach of getting, and focuses you on the wealth-creating approach of giving.

What if a manufacturing plant opened up, and all they did was stockpile raw materials? Certainly the raw materials are necessary for productive manufacturing. If nothing is done with them, though, they are virtually worthless. To produce wealth, the people operating the plant need to figure out what to do with all those raw materials, and then they need to do it.

The same holds true for you. In order to produce wealth, you need to figure out what to do with what you've got. How can you produce maximum value for others, using the skills, knowledge, contacts and resources at your disposal? Answer that question, and you'll immediately start creating wealth.

Entrance to VALUE

Challenge is difficult to get through. Yet on the other side of challenge, there is value.

The bigger the challenge, the more value you'll gain by working through it. The more challenges you're willing to take on, the more accomplishments you'll be able to reach.

When you arrive at a challenge, see that challenge for what it truly is. It is a gateway to real and lasting value.

Keep your focus on the value that lies beyond the challenge. And you'll surely find a way to get through.

When you have conquered a challenge, among the rewards there will be even bigger challenges. In each of those challenges is the opportunity for even greater achievement.

Walk through the gateway of challenge. For on the other side, it's even better than you can imagine.

CROWD them out

Fighting against negative thoughts will not rid you of them. In fact, the energy you set against those negative thoughts will only make them more intense.

When you try to dismiss a negative thought directly, that only causes you to think more about it. Instead, turn your attention to something else. Rather than rejecting the negative thought, replace it. Override it with a positive, creative, constructive thought.

Crowd out the negative thoughts by keeping your mind busy with other, more uplifting endeavors. That works much better than trying to push the negative thoughts away.

Your mind is always filled with one thought or another. Keep a supply of positive thoughts on hand, ready and waiting for you to focus upon.

Keep yourself busy with positive, productive endeavors. And the negative thoughts won't find their way into your attitude.

Do you SEE it

It has no form, shape or color. You could walk right past it every day and not even notice it. Far too many people do just that. It is rarely obvious. Yet once you see it, it is nearly impossible to ignore.

It has no voice, yet it can implore even the most powerful person to act in its behalf. Though it has no weight, it can achieve a momentum which is impossible to stop.

It holds no direct value of its own, yet it is at the heart of nearly every thing of value. When you see it, it will change your thinking and motivate your actions. When you know and understand it, you'll find it difficult to deny.

It will bring every good thing you could ever imagine, but only with your active help and involvement.

It is possibility. Do you see it? When you do, it is yours.

Beyond the LIMIT of TIME

No matter what you do, you cannot change the number of hours in the day. Yet you have an enormous impact over what goes into those hours, and what comes from them.

Fill the hours with purpose, and the passing of time works in your favor. Fill your days with meaning, with creativity, with goodness, joy and love, and each day leaves behind lasting value for your world.

Does it seem that there's never enough time to get it all done? Align your efforts more closely with your true purpose, and you'll find that those efforts quickly become much more effective.

Or does it feel like time is passing too slowly? Choose to put more meaning in each moment, and those moments will move quickly along.

Let go of your concerns about the speed at which time is passing, for time is nothing more than an arbitrary measure. What matters is what you do with each moment now as you live it.

Take your eyes off the clock and look instead toward your highest vision of what life can be. Fill the world with your own unique beauty, and go beyond the limits of time.

ADMIT it

Admit to being frightened, and your courage will grow. Admit to not knowing, and you will learn. Admit your weaknesses, and you'll become stronger. Admit your mistakes, and you'll begin to move past them.

Admit you don't know what to say, and you'll have said just the right thing. Admit that you're confused, and you'll begin to understand. Admit that you're hurting, and you'll begin to heal. Admit that you care, and the things that truly matter will grow stronger.

Being honest with yourself, with others, with life, can often be difficult and intimidating. Yet honesty is always the most reliable, the most direct route to truly attain whatever you seek.

Any attempt to deceive will ultimately end up wasting your precious time. Live the truth of who you are, and it will bring out the best you can be.

Beyond Conflict

If you run from conflict, it eventually finds you. If you give in to conflict, it grows even stronger and more emboldened.

The way to end conflict is to deal with it. And the way to deal with it is to overwhelm it with a positive, determined purpose.

When you're merely fighting against something, the fighting never ends. To permanently get beyond the conflict, work to replace it with something far more valuable and positively compelling for all concerned.

That is certainly not easy. It requires commitment, persistence, and much effort in the face of difficult challenges.

Yet in the end, it is the far better choice. For rather than perpetuating the conflict, you will have removed any reason for it to ever reoccur.

There is a higher, positive purpose that will replace the destructive purpose of the conflict. Do the work to bring everyone to it.

What is RIGHT with your life?

Too often, we define our lives by what's wrong with us. That limits us, and keeps us negatively focused.

Stop for a moment and consider all the things that are right with your life. Look for the positive things and be sincerely thankful for them.

Gratitude is the cornerstone of abundance. When someone gives you a gift, and you neglect to thank them for it, will they ever give you another? It's not likely. Life is the same way. In order to attract more of the blessings that life has to offer, you must truly appreciate what you already have.

You have, within yourself, all the wealth and abundance that you'll ever need. All you have to do is recognize it and put it to use. And that starts with focusing on the positive.

What do you enjoy about life? When are you the happiest? What do you do better than anyone else you know? What gives you a sense of satisfaction? What is your passion? What would you do if your resources were unlimited?

Answer these questions, and you'll find the things that are right with your life. Get in touch with them and appreciate them. Find a way to make them a part of your daily life and your work.

Help them to grow, and they will bring you fulfillment.

Blessing

Here's a great way to quickly change your attitude about anything and to put yourself in a positive frame of mind. Wherever you are, whatever has happened, in every situation, consider yourself truly blessed.

If there's something which must be done, that you'd really rather avoid, consider that you're truly blessed to be doing it. That simple change in thinking can put an amazing positive spin on the experience.

If there's a troublesome situation confronting you, consider yourself truly blessed to be able to face it. It will help you to fashion your most positive, effective and resourceful response.
Sure, it's difficult to think of yourself as truly blessed when you're in the middle of something unpleasant, frightening or frustrating. Difficult as it may be, though, it sure beats the alternative of giving in to despair and negativity.

It may not make sense at first to your logical mind, yet in some very positive and empowering way your spirit will understand. Indeed, you are truly blessed, and it can be a powerful positive boost to remind yourself of that fact. Just do it and see for yourself what a difference it can make.

Every dream has a REASON

Our hopes and dreams are what make us great. They push us to do whatever it takes to reach them. They give us the enthusiasm with which we inspire others to see our vision. They help us through all the obstacles along the way.

There is a reason for the dreams that you have. Your dreams are yours so that you will follow them. The pain you feel if you're not following your dream, has the same purpose as any other pain -- to get your attention and prompt you to correct the situation.

The joy you feel when pursuing your dream is there to keep you on the path. The value of your dream is in the person you become by following it -- in the skills you learn, in the people you help, in the growth you experience.

Dare to dream big dreams. The bigger your dream, the more motivation it will give you. When you put your dreams into action, you'll learn who you are. As you follow your dreams, you'll discover skills, passions, knowledge and desires that were meant for you. You'll find the essence that makes you unique.

Your dreams are not there to frustrate you, but to guide you toward the essential, joyful, abundant expression of creation that you are.

Expectation is Powerful

All my beloved friends and readers,

What are you doing when you're not thinking about what you're doing? You're busy fulfilling the most sincere expectations you have for yourself.

That's why your expectations are so important. They take control during the times when you lose yourself in whatever you're doing, and thus they exert a powerful influence. When you truly expect something, it's like programming your mind to seek it out every chance it gets.

Expectations have a way of becoming reality even in the moments when you're not aware that you're making them happen.

Your genuine expectations of others work in a similar fashion. The expectations you have for someone else are communicated to that person in a way that can easily override whatever you do or say on a conscious level.

Real, ingrained expectations go beyond intentions, beyond pronouncements, beyond the surface, to a level that is deep and undeniable. Whatever you truly expect to happen, is very likely going to happen.

So expect the very best, of yourself and of others, with sincerity, conviction and persistence.

Rule of Life

Rule One - You will receive a body. Whether you love it or hate it, it's yours for life, so accept it. What counts is what's inside.

Rule Two - You will be presented with lessons. Life is a constant learning experience, which every day provides opportunities for you to learn more. These lessons specific to you, and learning them 'is the key to discovering and fulfilling the meaning and relevance of your own life'.

Rule Three - There are no mistakes, only lessons. Your development towards wisdom is a process of experimentation, trial and error, so its inevitable things will not always go to plan or turn out how you'd want. Compassion is the remedy for harsh judgment - of us and others. Forgiveness is not only divine - it's also 'the act of erasing an emotional debt'. Behaving ethically, with integrity, and with humor - especially the ability to laugh at yourself and your own mishaps - are central to the perspective that 'mistakes' are simply lessons we must learn.

Rule Four - The lesson is repeated until learned. Lessons repeat until learned. What manifest as problems and challenges, irritations and frustrations are more lessons - they will repeat until you see them as such and learn from them. Your own awareness and your ability to change are requisites of executing this rule. Also fundamental is the acceptance that you are not a victim of fate or circumstance - 'causality' must be acknowledged; that is to say: things happen to you because of how you are and what you do. To blame anyone or anything else for your misfortunes is an escape and a denial; you yourself are responsible for you, and what happens to you. Patience is required - change doesn't happen overnight, so give change time to happen.

Rule Five - Learning does not end. While you are alive there are always lessons to be learned. Surrender to the 'rhythm of life', don't struggle against it. Commit to the process of constant learning and change - be humble enough to always acknowledge your own weaknesses, and be flexible enough to adapt from what you may be accustomed to, because rigidity will deny you the freedom of new possibilities.

Rule Six - "There" is no better than "here". The other side of the hill may be greener than your own, but being there is not the key to endless happiness. Be grateful for and enjoy what you have, and where you are on your journey. Appreciate the abundance of what's good in your life, rather than measure and amass things that do not actually lead to happiness. Living in the present helps you attain peace.

Rule Seven - Others are only mirrors of you. You love or hate something about another person according to what love or hate about yourself. Be tolerant; accept others as they are, and strive for clarity of self-awareness; strive to truly understand and have an objective perception of your own self, your thoughts and feelings. Negative experiences are opportunities to heal the wounds that you carry. Support others, and by doing so you support yourself. Where you are unable to support others it is a sign that you are not adequately attending to your own needs.

Rule Eight - What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. Take responsibility for yourself. Learn to let go when you cannot change things. Don't get angry about things - bitter memories clutter your mind. Courage resides in all of us - use it when you need to do what's right for you. We all possess a strong natural power and adventurous spirit, which you should draw on to embrace what lies ahead.

Rule Nine - Your answers lie inside of you. Trust your instincts and your innermost feelings, whether you hear them as a little voice or a flash of inspiration. Listen to feelings as well as sounds. Look, listen, and trust. Draw on your natural inspiration.

Rule Ten - You will forget all this at birth. We are all born with all of these capabilities - our early experiences lead us into a physical world, away from our spiritual selves, so that we become doubtful, cynical and lacking belief and confidence.

The ten Rules are not commandments; they are universal truths that apply to us all. When you lose your way, call upon them. Have faith in the strength of your spirit. Aspire to be wise - wisdom the ultimate path of your life, and it knows no limits other than those you impose on yourself.

"Life is a succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood." (Helen Keller)

iF U CARE

Have you ever tried to do something that you really don't care about doing? You might get through it, but it is difficult. You can easily come up with all sorts of excuses for avoiding it as long as possible. Any effort you put forth is indifferent and ineffective.

The way to be most effective at any task is to care about it. When you care, you put all you have into the effort. When you care, you find ways to do it better, and better ways to do it.

If you don't care about what you're doing, ask yourself why you're even doing it in the first place. There may indeed be a reason why you do care about it, that you just haven't realized. For example, if it's something related to your job, even though you don't care about the task, you probably care about your job. Or you care about your paycheck. Or you care about earning money to feed your family.

Either at some point there's a reason to care, or there's no reason to be doing it. Care about what you're doing and you become vastly more effective at getting it done. If you're going to make the effort, isn't that the best way to have it happen?

Be Ready for Golden opportunity

Every day presents new opportunities for everyone. In the vast majority of cases, these opportunities are wasted. They fly right on by, never acted upon by those who find them. Those few people who achieve greatness are the ones who are prepared for the opportunities that come their way.

How do you prepare yourself for opportunity? The first thing that comes to mind of most people is money. Then there's education, training, experience, friends in high places. These things can help. They are, however, not essential. Nor are they enough, in and of themselves.

In his book, Compassionate Capitalism, Amway co-founder Rich DeVoss says:
"...what makes you ready to recognize and to reach out for the golden ring when it suddenly appears is something mysterious, something powerful inside your heart and head that says, 'I can do it and I will.'

That attitude comes, not from having education or having money or having a lot of contacts, but from a confident belief in you, a mind that's open to new possibilities, a willingness to do whatever it takes to make something happen. There are plenty of intelligent, highly-educated people with money and connections who never go anywhere in life.

You can have almost "everything" going for you, and yet without the right attitude, without the willingness and confidence to dive right in, opportunities will pass you by, one after another.

The best opportunities are not the ones that you look for, they're the ones you work for. Many people waste a lot of time "looking" for the "perfect" opportunity. They want to put themselves in the right place at the right time, and let the opportunity do all the work. This rarely happens.
Opportunity is not a free ride. There is opportunity in every apple seed. With the right nurturing the seed will become a tree and will bear an endless supply of fruit. But nothing will happen if you just grab the seed and do nothing else with it. You may very well have gotten "into" it at the beginning of its "momentum growth phase". Nevertheless, it will bear no fruit without your hard work and persistence.

Being ready for opportunity means being willing and able to do whatever it takes to make something of the opportunity.

Achieving Success by doing what we love

Bill Gates says, in an interview on the CD-ROM that accompanies his new book, that "I've got the greatest job in the world." And because he feels that way about his work, he has amassed a personal fortune of around $15 billion, and built one of the most influential and successful companies in the world today.

You just won't find anyone who has achieved massive success by doing something that they hate. To achieve success, you must find something that you absolutely love to do. Something that you cannot not do. And do it well. Do it with passion, with excitement, with enthusiasm, with a healthy obsession.

That is not to say that you must become a workaholic. Because when you find something that you absolutely love to do, it's not work. It's fun. Obsession with making money creates workaholics. Focusing on limitation creates workaholics. Don't focus on making money, because then you'll be working. Focus instead on creating your dream job, on doing what you love to do the most. The money will come, but it is only one measure of your success. More importantly, you'll grow as a person. You'll grow into the person you were meant to be. You will fulfill your potential and make your unique contribution to the world. And that is worth far more than any check that anyone could write to you.

Mark Twain said, "The secret of success is making your vocation your vacation." Successful people are on a permanent vacation. Not because they don't work hard, but because they love what they do.

The other night on the radio a caller to a talk show was asked, "What would you do if you won the lottery?" Her reply was that she would "never work another day in my life." It always makes me very sad to hear something like that. It is sad to think that there are people who hate what they are doing. They'll never get anywhere with an attitude like that. And it is sad to think that the ultimate goal in life would be to NOT work. Can you imagine anything more empty? Think for a moment how that would be -- never contributing anything of value.

Bill Gates could retire today and live a life of leisure and almost unimaginable luxury. He has amassed a fortune that would last for thousands of lifetimes. And yet he still works very hard. That says a lot about the values and attitude that got him where he is today.

If your goal is to get to the point where you never have to work again, perhaps you should examine the nature of your work. Hating what you do will probably not get you very far. Find a way to love your work and you'll immediately have true success.

"Getting EVEN"

Why would you ever want to get even with someone who has wronged you? By very definition, getting even would mean lowering yourself to that person's level, and what would be the value of that?

In fact, there is no value in getting even. Any attempts to do so simply perpetuate and increase the harm that has already been done.

Instead of putting your time, your energy, and your resources into getting even, put them into moving beyond and moving ahead. For wouldn't you rather be getting ahead than merely getting even?

If your efforts are wrapped up in getting even, you're allowing your life to be controlled by those who have harmed you. That's certainly not what you want.

Forget about getting even, and put your focus on moving steadily and confidently ahead. That will put you in a far better position than you could ever hope to reach by merely getting even.

Feelings

If you could choose between feeling gloomy and feeling delighted, which one would you choose? If you could choose between feeling sorry for yourself and feeling confident in your ability to make a difference, which would you choose?

The delightful fact is that you can choose and you do choose your attitude, every moment of every day. When you're feeling sad or happy or frustrated or assured, it's because you've decided to respond to life in that particular way.

By feeling lousy you are not going to do anyone any good. Yet by feeling great and putting those feelings into action you might just lift up others around you and make a positive difference in your world.

But what about those days that are filled with challenges, obstacles, frustrations and pain? Well, if you don't want to feel great about what's going on, you can always choose to feel great in spite of what's going on.

No matter what has happened in the past, this moment is filled with positive possibilities. No matter how lousy you may have felt five minutes ago, you can choose to feel great about yourself right now.

And when you genuinely open your eyes and open your heart to all the good things that are truly possible, the world around you will begin to resemble those great feelings you have.

Either way you pay

Constant self discipline is not easy. It is the price we pay for achievement. We basically have two choices in our life. We can choose the "easy" life, a life free from effort and self discipline, or we can chose to pay the price for success.

At any given moment, the "easy" life of leisure and fun is the most effortless choice. The rewards are immediate. It is easier to spend the day at the lake than to spend the day working.
It is easier to sit in front of the TV than it is to read a book or write a business plan.
In the long run, however, the easy life leads to mediocrity. If we don't do much, nothing much gets done. Our life gets nowhere.

A life of effort and self discipline is more difficult on a daily basis. We have to get out of bed early every morning. Sometimes we have to do things that are unpleasant. It isn't always fun. But we ended up accomplishing something. We make something of our life. All those days spent working and disciplining ourselves will eventually pay off.

Jim Rohn talks about the pain of discipline versus the pain of regret. Either way, he says, we pay the price. We can choose to pay the price of discipline now, today, and every day. Or we can choose to pay later with the price of regret. He points out that the price of self-discipline is pennies and the price of regret is a fortune.

Think of that. Just imagine how we would feel, knowing we could have had success, accomplishment, and wealth, but didn't do it because we chose the easy life. Just imagine the depth of pain we would feel when we realize it's too late, that we no longer have the energy or the opportunity to make something of ourselves. Wouldn't we rather pay the small price of self-discipline now, and look back at a life of accomplishment? As Jim Rohn says, we can choose to go to the beach today, or we can work today, and tomorrow, and the next day, and eventually own the beach

Creating Wealth

So many people get hung up on trying to "get money." That is not the way to wealth. First of all, you don't just "get" money. You exchange something of value for money, if you want money.

Money, however, is not what anyone wants. What we want are the things that we can exchange the money for.

The way to wealth is to create something valuable that has not ever existed before. This can be tangible or intangible, it doesn't really matter. All that matters is that it is valuable. What do I mean by valuable? I mean that it is valued by other people who are willing to exchange their own things of value in order to receive the benefits of what you have created.

You can create a product, a place, a concept, a work or art, a network of people, whatever. Most likely your creation will be a combination of things. And creation does not necessarily imply "creativity" in the sense that we normally think of it. Building something is creating, even if you're not the one who originally thought of it.

The point is, you cannot "get" rich, unless you are lucky enough to receive an inheritance or win the lottery. To create wealth, you must create value. One of the very best ways to create value is to solve problems. The world is full of opportunities to create value and wealth -- and these opportunities come disguised as problems.

Look around you. Opportunity is everywhere. There is plenty of abundant wealth just waiting to be created.

The four agreements - Don Miguel ruin’s code for life

The four agreements - Don Miguel ruin’s code for life

Agreement 1
Be impeccable with your word - Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

Agreement 2
Don’t take anything personally - Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

Agreement 3
Don’t make assumptions - Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

Agreement 4
Always do your best - Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret

Make the world Sparkle

You are more beautiful than the most beautiful thing you have ever seen, because you are able to see it and appreciate it.
What good is beauty, if it can not be enjoyed? The essence of the beauty is within you.

You make the world sparkle by your delight and participation in it. You bring the world to life by your living each day. You give meaning to the words of others by listening to what they say.

All that you experience is a part of you, and you a part of it. You're an active participant in the warm and shimmering reality of this day.
This day, this world is yours and you are a vital part of it.
It is your experience, it is your joy, it is your responsibility.

a better world

It may sometimes seem that the world is shallow and petty and focused only on meaningless, superficial concerns. Yet you can choose to live in a better world.

It may appear that there is an overwhelming amount of violence, despair and injustice in the world. Yet you can choose to live in a better world.

Look at the world in a positive light, and suddenly you've made it a better place.
Act on the possibilities that you see, and you give real substance to your positive vision.

Imagine how the world would be if everyone became focused on the positive possibilities.
By directing your own awareness toward those possibilities, and by acting on them, you make them more vibrant, more visible and more compelling.

from the heart

From the heart

What happens for you on the outside depends on what's going on with you on the inside.
Success is not something that comes from the outside world to you, but rather something that grows outward from within you to the world.

To experience success, fulfillment, happiness and joy is to get yourself in a place where these things flow from you.
That means putting your energy and attention into the real, honest, authentic person you were meant to be.

Trying to appear as someone you're not will only frustrate and disappoint you.
Working on being and giving the best you have is what will move you forward, on the inside and on the outside.

The best athletes are not those who are obsessed with their opponents on the playing field, but rather those who play from the heart for the love of the game.
Are you living and working and playing from the heart for the love of what you're doing?
It's a powerful place to be. The best you can be will come from the best of who you are, deep down inside.

I will - I will - I will

One person says, "I might. I'd like to. I'm thinking about it. I'm trying. I wish. If only... I'm working on it. I would, but..."

Another person simply says, "I will."

Who do you think will get the job done? When you say "I will" and you truly believe it, you'll find a way to get it done. Go ahead. Say it right now to yourself.

I will make it happen. I will find a way. I know I can do it, and I will.

Say it with conviction and belief. How does it make you feel? The world is full of excuses. Your pathway is littered with obstacles. Yet none of them can stand up to "I will."

The power at your command is truly awesome. "I will" clarifies and directs that power. "I will" takes you places and brings you the success you desire. Say "I will." Believe it. Know it.

Practice it. Live it. Leave your excuses in the dust, and delight in the sweet rewards of you own achievement.

We are truly blessed

Here's a great way to quickly change our attitude about anything and to put ourselves in a positive frame of mind. Wherever we are, whatever has happened, in every situation, consider ourselves truly blessed.

If there's something which must be done, that we'd really rather avoid, consider that we're truly blessed to be doing it. That simple change in thinking can put an amazing positive spin on the experience.

If there's a troublesome situation confronting us, consider ourselves truly blessed to be able to face it. It will help us to fashion our most positive, effective and resourceful response.

Sure, it's difficult to think of ourselves as truly blessed when we're in the middle of something unpleasant, frightening or frustrating. Difficult as it may be, though, it sure beats the alternative of giving in to despair and negativity.

It may not make sense at first to our logical mind, yet in some very positive and empowering way our spirit will understand.

Indeed, we are truly blessed, and it can be a powerful positive boost to remind ourselves of that fact.

Just do it and see for ourselves what a difference it can make.

Beautiful day

Photo taken 2)with my BSE SALES TEAM MATE (郑喜洁)

Would you like for this day to be a beautiful day? There is so much you can do to make it so.
Instead of being obsessed with getting your way, focus on giving your best. That is what will bring real value to both you and your world.

When you feel the need to prove that you are right, stop and redirect the energy of that feeling. Put it into expressing your authentic purpose in a sincere and positive way.

Realize that there are many things that annoy and frustrate you only because you allow them to do so. You can just as easily choose to not let them get to you, and put your time to more productive use.

What would you do today if you did not have to be concerned about getting your way?
What would you do today if you didn't need to worry about what others were thinking of you?
Now is the only time you'll have the opportunity to experience this day.
With your attitude and your actions, choose to make it a beautiful and valuable experience

Hands on the wheel

No one would dare to drive down the highway without their hands on their car's steering wheel. Yet we often cruise down the highway of life with no hands on the wheel.

The mind is like a steering wheel for living. Whatever way it is turned, life obediently follows. And when we fail to exercise control of our mind, life becomes reckless. Instead of keeping our hands firmly on the wheel, instead of purposefully directing our thoughts, we let our minds get turned in every which direction.

The results are often disastrous. Our lives weave into oncoming traffic, and we get hit head on. We often leave the road completely, and head out over rough terrain, which jolts us and jars us until we finally break down.

In life, as in driving a car, the swiftest, most reliable progress is made by staying firmly in control. To do that, we must know where we're going, we must plot a route to get there, and we must be disciplined enough to keep our hands firmly on the steering wheel.

Give TODAY a goal

Give today a goal, or two or three or a dozen. Then set about, one by one, to make them happen.

You can accomplish just about anything you ask of yourself. Yet in order to accomplish, you do need to ask.

Make your goals specific and clear. When you know exactly what you intend to do, you're well on your way to getting it done.

Make your goals meaningful and memorable. The more they mean to you, the less likely you are to become sidetracked by all the distractions that will come your way.

You now have this day with which to work. Give yourself something meaningful to make of it.

Give today a goal, with your energy focused on accomplishment. And this day, in return, will give you great value that lasts for a long, long time.

Never Stop learning

All men who have turned out worth anythinghave had a chief hand in their own education.-- Sir Walter Scott

The one thing in life that can never be taken away from you is your education. You can lose your money, your home, your job, and even your family. You can never lose the things you learn.

Education is not just what you learn in school, not by a long shot. Unfortunately, many people make the mistake of "finishing" their education when they graduate. And education is not just learning facts. Education is learning how to learn on a continuing basis.

It is more important than ever that you never stop learning. With the rapid advances in knowledge and technology, information quickly becomes obsolete. So you must learn not only the facts, but more importantly, how to find the information you need.

Computer technology is a powerful tool for learning. With computers, you can have access to a virtually unlimited supply of information. My two year old daughter, who already knows how to use a mouse to find what she wants, will probably have fingertip access to the entire world's libraries by the time she learns to read.

If you are not continually updating your knowledge you will be left behind. You must always be looking for a better way to do something, for the knowledge that will make you more effective.

Because you can be sure that your competition is doing just that.

NOW>>> BSE is my best choice...

Blessings

How often do we stop to count our blessings? In our daily struggle for more, how often do we feel joyful and thankful for the many, many things we already have?

In our ambitious quest to better our life, be careful that we don't overlook the wealth that we already have. Wealth? Yes, wealth that is very real and very accessible to us.

Do we know that we already have abundant of wealth? Perhaps we don't feel like it if we've just paid the bills. Yet each and every one of us has an abundance that is almost beyond comprehension. The secret is to tap into that abundance and use it to do whatever we want to do.

And the process starts with counting our blessings. Taking stock of the things we have, the things we know, the people in our life, our spirituality, our skills, our opinions, our special perspective on life, our family, our hobbies, our sense of humor, our appreciation for beauty, our caring for others, our concern for those less fortunate, our ability to see opportunity. The list of possibilities is endless, and these things all have value beyond anything we can imagine.

Take a good hard look at ourselves and to count our blessings. Think of as many of them as you can. Think of the beauty and richness of our life. These things don't require money or power or position. They all spring from our attitude, the way we react to situations, the way we value others, the way we value life itself.

Right now, within ourselves, we have the ability to do anything we want with our life. We have complete control of our behavior, our actions from minute to minute. Look deep inside ourselves and tap into the wealth that lies hidden within uus. It is there if only we will look, and the best way to find it is with an attitude of thanksgiving and joy.

Make people around us feel needed

Remember always that people want to feel needed. They want to help out and be a part of what we are doing. When we satisfy this desire in people, we receive their admiration, loyalty, respect and cooperation.

Other people can be a powerful source of ideas, of motivation, of business contacts -- if we encourage their participation. Most people are only too willing to help. Most people are genuinely flattered when we ask for their opinion or their expertise.

On the other hand, we must not take advantage of people. Asking someone for their help out of laziness on our part will not win any points. People are willing to help us only if they see us putting forth our own best effort. No one will want to help us if we don't help ourselves. However, if we're striving toward excellence every day, people will jump all over themselves to be a part of what we are doing.

And always show sincere appreciation. People will want to help us only if they feel we are truly grateful.

There's an old story in the sales business about a salesman who doubled his orders for cash registers by asking for advice rather than orders. He would call on each prospect, introduce himself, and say, "Mr. Jones, I didn't come here to sell you a machine. I came to get some advice. I'm new at this and I wonder if you would show me how to sell it." The prospect would almost always be quite complimented, and work up a great sales presentation. Then the salesman would say, "We make it sound like we need one." He made many sales just from letting the other person take part.

This concept only works if we're willing to "give" as much as we "take." If we're always willing to help and advise others, then there will be plenty of people whom we, in turn, can call on for advice and assistance.

It's very, very difficult to accomplish anything alone. And it is quite unnecessary as well. There are plenty of people willing to help us if we will only ask.

Kindness

Kindness is one of the most powerful tools available to us. Kindness can positively transform our world in a way that nothing else can.

When our heart is filled with kindness, our thoughts and actions are driven by a positive, creative force. Instead of being needlessly distracted by anger, envy or despair, our eyes are more fully open to the many valuable possibilities.

Act with kindness toward others. We'll create an atmosphere of understanding and cooperation in which amazing things can be accomplished.

Be kind to ourselves. We'll make it possible to clearly focus our considerable creative energy on achieving the highest and best of our dreams.

Choose to act with kindness, and we free ourselves from the heavy burden of negativity. Persist in our kindness, and we rise to higher and higher levels of true, meaningful accomplishment.

Kindness transforms profoundly and spreads quickly. Let kindness freely flow from us, and it will surely change our world.

Being Thankful and Appreciative

Taking the time to express appreciation is one of the most positive things we can do. It's a big booster for the other person -- people love to know that they're being appreciated. It's a great feeling for you, too. And there's no better way to encourage people to do their best, than to let them know you appreciate what they're doing.

Beyond showing appreciation for other people, it's important to cultivate a general attitude of thankfulness. Stop and think about all the good things in your life and be thankful for them. Too often we focus on our problems and shortcomings, and that only gives them that much more control over our lives. Being thankful for the positive things in our lives helps us to focus on possibilities for improvement.

Think of someone to whom you've never before expressed appreciation and make it a point to let them know you're thankful for what they're doing. Make a habit of being thankful and appreciative for the positive things in your life. When you nurture and encourage the good things instead of dwelling on the problems, your life will be full of joy.
